C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield getting Nintendo Switch physical release in the west

Aksys Games today announced a physical release for C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield in the west, which will be sold as a Total Warfare Edition. It will be available on December 4, 2025.

C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield will include all DLC and updates. Everything will be packed right into the cartridge.

We originally saw C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield on Nintendo Switch in May 2024. Below is an official overview:

C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield combines roguelike-style deckbuilding with SRPGs. Enjoy unique tactical gameplay that features over 100 varieties of cards with unique designs allowing players to build powerful decks and strategically confront enemies on an SRPG field. Every encounter requires a different strategy! Adapt to new battlegrounds and plan accordingly. Build the strongest deck and put a stop to the Hellmuth Brigade’s actions. The new “Mini-Game” mode lets players select a single unit and navigate a grid-based map, engaging in battles, upgrading, and making critical decisions. Your route and deck-building choices within limited turns will determine your success against the boss!

The 100 Years’ War. That was the name given to the ongoing battle between 17 countries. Already it seemed like a war with no end, but one fateful day, a jet-black dragon descended upon the kingdom, and in the blink of an eye, destroyed everything.

While chaos reigned, it was soon discovered that the dragon was in fact a “chimera” created from a dragon with no interest in the humans’ war. The enemy country Fahftania had developed an unprecedented weapon, joining forces with the giant military force, Hellmuth Brigade, and sacrificing thousands of citizens to produce the greatest chimera in history. Having acquired this overwhelming power, no one possessed the ability to defeat Fahftania and the Hellmuth Brigade.

A scout from the Clausewitz Battalion discovered that Fahftania was creating chimeras in their aim to take over the world. Hearing this, Captain Vel Dina is appalled by their inhumane experiments and orders the Clausewitz Battalion to march on Fahftania and put a stop to them. However, they would soon find that all of Fahftania is under the Hellmuth Brigade thrall. This is where our story begins.

Additional content may be used right from the start of play. New units available to join the Clausewitz Battalion include:

• “Bartgreisse” – starter items: Art of Battle: Critical Hit Rate +10% and 2 Steel Swords: Attack Power +2 each
• “Vasbiard” – starter item: 3 Steel Shields: Defense +2 each
• “Goblin” – starter item: 3 Steel Swords: Attack Power +2 each
• “Serena Artemisia” – starter items: Amber Eye: Unit field of vision +20%, Blessed Talisman: Attack Power +2, Defense +2, and Bespoke Glasses: Accuracy +2%
• “Greg Ironheart” – starter items: Steel Sword: Attack Power +2, Steel Shield: Defense +2, and Warrior Armor: Max HP +10
