This week’s Nintendo Download includes the following featured content:

Nintendo eShop
Metroid™ – Packed with high-tech weaponry, creepy tunnels and hideous alien creatures, the first installment in the immensely successful Metroid series introduces us to the slick, cybernetic bounty hunter Samus Aran. (For Nintendo 3DS)

It’s becoming increasingly apparent that the AR feature of Kid Icarus: Uprising is more than a simple distraction.

The game itself will come with six cards, and Nintendo previously confirmed that they’ll be holding a number of events so that players “can trade, share, and obtain new cards.”

According to Siliconera, there are quite a few cards to collect. Hundreds, in fact.

Nintendo hasn’t said how they’ll be distributing the cards aside from the events they’ll be directing after the game’s launch next month.

The Amazing Spider-Man will allow users to play as legendary comic book writer Stan Lee. Of course, he is responsible for the creation of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and plenty of other characters.

Lee delivered the news while speaking with Addiction of Fiction.

This will be the first time that Lee will be playable in a video game.

Players will be able to join up with their friends online in Kid Icarus: Uprising. This can be done in-game, or, like Mario Kart 7, through the Friend List feature on the 3DS menu.

According to the official Uprising website:

“This option lets you play with any of the friends you have registered on your Nintendo 3DS system. You can also choose to allow your friends’ friends to play with you as well. Your friends can also choose to join you when you’re playing a game by using the Friend List on the Nintendo 3DS’s HOME menu. Note that they can not immediately join in a game that’s in progress. Instead they will be taken to the lobby to wait for the next game to begin.”

Kid Icarus: Uprising will be the second Nintendo 3DS title to take advantage of this functionality.

A new crossover project between Namco Bandai, Capcom, and SEGA was announced last week during Nintendo Direct. It’s unclear as to what the three companies are cooking up, but the game’s official website did see a small update today.

The page now includes three new images. You can find all three in the gallery above. Alternatively, you can view the photos on the game’s official website here.
