Fan tattoos 3DS AR card onto arm

We’ve seen some rather crazy ideas accomplished with the 3DS, yet the system is barely a month old. You remember the giant Augmented Reality card/Mii, don’t you? That was certainly impressive, but the video above is also… interesting.
A fan apparently decided to tattoo the AR card onto his arm. The only downside I can think of is that he won’t be able to easily use the “Star Viewer” application. The tattoo is definitely a symbol of dedication to Nintendo!
“This tattoo is a near-exact copy of the ? augmented reality card that comes with the 3DS. It seems a bit sensitive to a very specific brightness of light– not too bright, not too dark. I think I need to go back and have the card outline added, since I think it works in lower light because of lower contrast. This video was shot in my bathroom because it was the best place to set up a tripod and hold my arm and the 3DS at the right angles. Still, the AR is a little jumpy because my arm is at a slight angle.”

Tales of the Abyss 3DS also heading to Europe
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Tales of the Abyss 3DS was confirmed for North America just a few days ago, so it would be a shame if Namco Bandai neglected to bring the game over to Europe as well. Fortunately, the game will indeed see a worldwide release. The PS2 port has been given a general “Spring 2012” timeframe for release in Europe according to NGamer. That’s quite a bit later than the game’s launch in North America, though I suppose we should be pleased that Namco Bandai is localizing the game for all territories.

Firebrand Games working on Need for Speed: The Run for Nintendo platforms
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
The Wii edition of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was pretty much an abomination. So it’s probably a good thing that EA is switching developers for the latest title in the franchise. Firebrand Games, well-known for their work on Trackmania for Nintendo platforms, is creating the Wii and 3DS versions of “The Run.” Firebrand certainly knows how to make a quality racer, so that should bode well for the latest Need for Speed games on Wii/3DS.

Japan receiving small shipment of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
If trusted Japanese blog Sinobi is to be believed, Nintendo won’t be shipping many copies of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D in Japan. The initial shipment batch is expected to be “extremely small” and stock availability will be limited for all retailers. To make matters worse, Nintendo is not taking game orders from any store.
For such a legendary franchise, this sounds odd, doesn’t it? One theory is that Nintendo is looking to avoid a quick price reduction, similar to the situation with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. That title landed in bargain bins not too long after release.
