Ghost Trick has different puzzle solutions for some puzzles, crossover with Phoenix Wright
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 1 Comment
This information comes from Shu Takami, director of Ghost Trick…
“Some of the puzzles have different ways to solve them. For instance when a living person has to walk through an area full of traps, Sissel needs to manipulate a path for them.”
“There already is (a crossover with Phoenix Wright)! Will there be a major turnabout towards the end of the story? You will have to find out for yourselves…”
Nintendo Download: Whether at Home or Out and About, Nintendo’s Downloads Make for Great Fun

Let’s say you’re relaxing at home, but something doesn’t seem quite right. Maybe your house has ghosts. Clearly you need to get GhostSlayer, with its Wii MotionPlus™ accessory functionality, to figure out how to deal with them. Or maybe your house has a mouse. Mouse House™ puzzles seem the logical choice for you. Maybe you just need to get out of the house and try some fresh air with Family Go-Kart Racing. If it seems a bit brighter than usual outdoors, that’s probably because Aura-Aura, the star of Aura-Aura Climber™, has fallen out of the sky. While you’re out having fun, take and share some crazy pictures of your friends and family with Faceez, or spend a few relaxing hours directing flights with Flight Control™. And while you’re out there, you might want to spend some time helping a little boy recover his lost pet goldfish, Flipper.

New Nintendo patent involves DS feedback through stylus
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 3 Comments
There has been much speculation about the DS’ successor, from the type of graphics the hardware will support to actual abilities the system will feature. But perhaps one of the more intriguing possibilities involves the successor making use of a new type of rumbling feedback.
At the end of January, Nintendo filed a patent that might be best described as a souped-up DS Rumble Pak. Basically, when a player touches the DS bottom screen (like an enemy), vibration would be felt through the stylus. The force of the vibration would vary based on variables such as enemy depth and strength/success of attacks.
“A game apparatus includes an LCD, and a touch panel is placed on a top surface of the LCD. A player instructs an enemy character displayed on the LCD by use of a stick to attack the enemy character. For example, in a case that the enemy character exists at a depth of a game screen, little damage is applied to the enemy character, and a weak vibration is applied to the game apparatus. Conversely, in a case that the enemy character exists at a front of the game screen, much damage is applied to the character, and a strong vibration is applied to the game apparatus. In either case, the vibrations are transmitted to the fingers or hands of the payer via the stick.”
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess if Nintendo plans on using this technology in the next DS. However, it certainly sounds more promising than the Rumble Pak.
