Tekken boss: Wii U GamePad “difficult” for fighters, Tag Tournament 2 ideas
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Update: Bumping to the front page. Harada actually said “difficult”, not “distracting”.
Tekken was one of the first franchises confirmed for Wii U. At this year’s E3, we found out that the series would be making its debut on the console as Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
The game will make use of the GamePad, but series boss Katsuhiro Harada believes that the controller could prove to be “distracting” for fighting titles. As such, the development team is taking a more simple approach with the tablet.
Harada discussed some of the ideas he has in mind for the GamePad in a new interview, stating:
“Looking at the small screen and the big screen at the same time is pretty distracting for a fighting game. So we’re thinking of making it useful as a way of having shortcuts. Or, by making progressing through the game more convenient. Or by playing alone on the GamePad screen.”

Namco Bandai considers Tales of the Abyss a success in Europe
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
It’s unclear how well Tales of the Abyss 3DS sold in Europe. Nonetheless, Namco Bandai is pleased with the game’s performance.
Based on new comments from a Namco Bandai representative, the company wishes it had advertised Abyss more in Europe. That didn’t stop the title from surpassing expectations, however.
Kingdom of Tales, paraphrasing a remark from the rep, says that it “sold unexpectedly fast and well, and they had to print copies of the game again three or four times.” Namco Bandai considers Abyss’ sales “as a success in its own way, and encourages Namco Bandai Partners in its decision to localize more Tales games in the future.”
Abyss, along with the recently released Graces F in North America, are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Tales localizations going forward. Namco Bandai hopes to make the series more well-known in North America and Europe. Furthermore, the company would like to “attract new gamers who enjoy video games with anime characteristics, something the Tales series keep but the Final Fantasy series gradually lost.”

This is late… very late. We have the first screenshots from the DS version of The Amazing-Spider Man. For unknown reasons, Activision is releasing the images now, despite the fact that it’s been out since last month.
The Amazing Spider-Man DS is a much different game than the 3DS and console versions. It’s a side-scrolling 2D game made by Other Ocean Interactive, the creator of Dark Void Zero.
You can find a sampling of screenshots from The Amazing Spider-Man DS in the gallery above.
