A number of Wii owners are experiencing a mysterious bug in Metroid: Other M that, if encountered, will not allow the player to continue. The issue is related to a door on the far side of a lava pit, found in Sector 3. If that door happens to be red, it will not open as there is no alternative route to the next area. Don’t expect Nintendo to come up with a quick and easy fix anytime soon, though. Even though the company is aware that the title is causing problems for some gamers, a Nintendo Customer Support representative was only able to recommend loading an older save if possible or simply starting over.

Matt Bozon/Sean Valesco/Adam Tierney on their interest in the 3DS…

Matt Bozon: “We are full speed ahead. Personally I’m a big fan of 3D comics and (I’ll say it) Virtual Boy. So, this is everything I love with none of the negative elements that keep those kinds of things trapped in offbeat or nostalgia circles. 3DS is a true stereo visual experience that needs no special equipment. It’s going to fly off the shelves, and we’ll be there with the rad games.”

Sean Valesco: “I love the glasses-less 3D, it’s amazing. I’ve wanted analog control forever, and the extra processing power means we can do a lot more, too. The only caveat is that the top screen and touch screen are much more differentiated than the DS, meaning that you can’t ever touch the 3D gameplay. It will be interesting to see how developers tackle this hardware, but needless to say I am over the moon!”

Adam Tierney: “I like that I can finally see something in 3D without having to wear goofy glasses. I’m very excited to be working on the system.”

New Gameplay Video Showcases Journey through the Forgotten World of Disney Epic Mickey

September 16, 2010 – Disney Interactive Studios announced today that Disney Epic Mickey will be available on November 26 in the United Kingdom and November 30 in North America. With its innovative style of gameplay using paint and thinner to dynamically change the game world, Disney Epic Mickey is one of the most anticipated titles of 2010.

“I believe that video games tell stories as deep and as sophisticated as movies, books or any other medium. In Disney Epic Mickey, Mickey Mouse is faced with challenges worthy of a hero, while the players’ actions and their decisions throughout the game alter the gameworld,” said Warren Spector, general manager and creative director, Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point in Austin. “We are honoured and humbled by the anticipation for Disney Epic Mickey, and we could not be more excited to get the game in people’s hands so that they can experience the thrill of becoming a hero and controlling their own destiny.”

Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s long forgotten characters and attractions, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero.
Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey’s tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of “Playstyle Matters” – an innovative style of gameplay created by Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines – but with consequences for their chosen actions.
