Nintendo has announced a brand new 3DS-esque model, the 2DS. The system works with all 3DS and DS games, but can’t play games in 3D.
The 2DS also ditches the 3DS clamshell design. To put games in sleep mode, you’ll need to use a slider. Turning Wi-Fi on/off is now a setting rather than its own switch.

Aonuma: Collecting rupees in Zelda: A Link Between Worlds “will be more important than ever”
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Podcast Stories | 2 Comments
Rupees haven’t exactly had a great importance in Zelda games. In most cases, they haven’t been crucial to the main gameplay. In Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, however, collecting rupees “will be more important than ever”.
Producer Eiji Aonuma told ONM this month:
“Collecting rupees, the currency of the Zelda world, will be very important in this game. You might think that was the case with all the past games too, but I must say that this time it will be more important than ever and you will need to collect a great deal of them.”
There’s a very good chance that rupees will have a strong tie-in to the game’s shop. In a Miiverse post last month, Aonuma wrote:
“Shops in the past Zelda games sold things that would run out once you use them like arrows and bombs, items that needed replenishing. They have never sold an item that doesn’t go away after each use like the boomerang or the hookshot.”
So perhaps main items will leave your inventory after a certain number of uses? Players would then need to use their rupees to repurchase arrows and bombs, the boomerang, etc.

Square Enix has announced a new release for Bravely Default in this week’s Jump, subtitled “For the Sequel”. This is the full version of the game that adds new elements.
The number of save slots has increased to three and there are now difficulty settings. The controls have been revamped to allow gamers to play more comfortably, there are a few new story aspects, and there is also automatic battle mode to decrease the time it takes to engage with enemies. Save data can be used from the previous version.
Bravely Default: For the Sequel is hitting Japan on December 5. Pricing is set at 4,990 yen at retail and 2,900 yen as an expansion download.
