No Ambassador program for Wii U, Nintendo customer service says

The Wii U is in a similar position as the 3DS. Both systems received price drops less than a year after their release.
When the 3DS reduction was announced, Nintendo revealed an Ambassador program for the handheld. A total of 20 games were made available for free – 10 NES games and 10 exclusive GBA titles.
Apparently, the Wii U won’t be seeing anything similar based on recent comments from a Nintendo customer service representative. Nintendo of America’s Helena Toledo said:
Thank you for taking the time to write with your questions regarding a Wii U Ambassador program. The Ambassador program is only available to any Nintendo 3DS owner who purchased their system before August 12, 2011 and there are no plans for a similar program for Wii U.
I know that this isn’t what you were hoping for, but we appreciate your support of our products now and in the future. I also want to assure you that your comments will be added to our records and made available for other departments at the company to use as they see fit.

Wii U Basic Pack will become “limited” in the UK
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Much like the US, the Wii U Basic Pack is more or less being phased out in Europe.
A Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer that Nintendo is concentrating on the 32GB Premium Pack. Expect the Basic package to become “limited” in the UK going forward. And while Nintendo won’t say that they’re ditching the Basic Pack outright, we can deduce that it won’t be restocked in the future.
Nintendo’s full statement reads:
“The current Wii U Basic Pack will become limited in supply. However we are always looking for fun and interesting ways to package up our products for different groups of fans.”
