“The cadence of the releases seems to have found a nice equilibrium with people’s appetite. There’s demand and excitement each and every time out. Then people are playing throughout the year. We don’t take anything for granted.”

Everyone gets what makes a great Call of Duty game. Treyarch and IW are the masters, and have built this thing. So, there’s a lot of common DNA from year to year. But then people come in and want to top each other. There’s some healthy competition. There’s a desire within the creative team to not do the same thing and not be stagnant, the same way there is in the player community.”

Hirshberg also mentioned how Call of Duty releases have become a sort of “pop culture event” that people want to take part in simply because it’s topical. He compared to to the release of Avatar (2009 movie), saying “a lot of non-hardcore sci-fi fans saw Avatar because it was an event. You felt you had to be a part of it. We’ve reached the status with Call of Duty of this sort of pop-cultural inevitability.”

Scribblenauts Unlimited finally heading to Europe in December

After an extremely long wait, Nintendo intends to release Scribblenauts Unlimited in Europe in December. That applies to both versions of the game – Wii U and 3DS.

Meanwhile, the next entry in the series known as Scribblenauts Unmasked, is launching in North America next month.

Not one, but two Wii U bundles are coming to Europe in October. In addition to the Zelda: Wind Waker HD Premium Pack, Nintendo will also launch a LEGO City: Undercover Premium Pack. It will come with a 32GB console and a copy of the game (not specified if download or physical).

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD isn’t just getting a bundle in North America. Nintendo has confirmed in its latest announcement that Europe will be receiving a similar package.

Launching on October 4, consumers in Europe will be able to purchase “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Premium Pack”. It includes a black 32GB Wii U system, GamePad controller adorned with gold lettering, a gold Hyrule crest and gold symbols from the game, and a code that can be used to download the game from the eShop.

In addition to the Zelda-themed hardware bundle and standalone game, Nintendo will release The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition, including a copy of the boxed game featuring an exclusive, double-sided title sheet with Zelda artwork, and a never before seen high quality figurine – encased in a transparent dome – which depicts Ganondorf wielding dual swords in attack.
