Wii U eShop

Disastercake’s RPG, “Soul Saga”, has a chance of landing on Wii U. The game will head to the eShop if a $105,000 stretch goal is reached on Kickstarter.

Mike from Disastercake already has a few ideas in mind as to what the team could do on Wii U:

I’m not exactly positive how I will deal with it exactly yet, but I think I will be adding a lot of the GUI (graphical user interface) on the Wii U controller, clearing up the space on the TV to look more like a movie. I think it’s great to have lots of screen real estate, and game designers have been struggling to find ways to get the GUI out of the way of the pretty graphics for a long time.

[In the game] the player has a Steampunk styled smart phone for communicating with other people in the game world, so that menu GUI would be able to find a good place on the controller. So if the player gets a text message while roaming the world, the Wii U GamePad will start to vibrate and make a noise. Or, if the player has an incoming call it will also vibrate and ring and display the caller’s portrait on the GamePad like it was a smart phone. The player can then answer the phone to initiate the conversation, or just hang up on them if they want to dodge that call.

More information about Soul Saga can be found on the Kickstarter page here. At present, the title is roughly $35,000 funded. Disastercake is looking to reach $60,000 within the next 22 days.

Nintendo of America has shown interest in Armikrog, Pencil Test Studios’ new adventure game. It’s pretty unique – the whole thing is made out of clay.

Armikrog was originally announced for PC, OSX, and Linux, but it could be heading to the Wii U eShop as well. Nintendo of America contacted the development team shortly after E3 and expressed interest in the project.

Doug TenNapel, the creator of Earthworm Jim, is working on Armikrog. The creators of The Neverhood are also contributing.

Five days remain for Armikrog’s Kickstarter campaign. It’s only at about $600,000, so some generous donations may be needed to reach the $900,000 target.

Kemco and Exe-Create are bringing “Alphadia Genesis” to mobile devices. It’s a JRPG with a PSOne-like feel, featuring sprites for the world map and 3D character models during battle.

So why would we be mentioning a mobile title here? Well, Alphadia Genesis has a chance of heading to Wii U.

Manager of the mobile business department Masaomi Kurokawa said the following when asked if he thought about bringing the game to consoles:

“I hope so. Since Unity supports other consoles we will try to test it first. If that works well maybe we will bring it to Vita, Wii U, and if PlayStation 4 supports it.”

For an overview of Alphadia Genesis, check out the summary after the break.

Gory Detail is bringing its next game, “The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup”, to the 3DS and Wii U eShops.

Former Rare developer Chris Seavor gave the lowdown on the game to Nintendo Life, offering vague details about the game’s story and gameplay:

Many classic Mega Man games are available on the Wii U and 3DS eShops. Even more, however, appear to be on the way.

Capcom community manager Brett Elston recently teased:

“Hope to have additional news regarding classic MM games hitting the Virtual Console soon. We’re on a roll with the 3DS and Wii U lineup, and I have a feeling there’s more on the way…”
