Super Mario Bros Wonder Charles Martinet

Charles Martinet is not involved with Super Mario Bros. Wonder, according to an official statement shared by Nintendo.

Earlier today, the company announced that Martinet is stepping back from voicing characters in its games. As part of that, he’ll now be a “Mario Ambassador”.

Nintendo is keeping quiet on who’s voicing Mario – and Luigi – in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. That being said, we now officially know that it’s not Martinet.

Nintendo’s official statement reads:

“While Charles is not involved in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we’re excited to honor his legacy and contributions, including looking ahead to what he’ll be doing as a Mario Ambassador. Character voice actors will be credited in the game credits, so please wait for the game to be released.”

There was initially some speculation that Martinet wouldn’t be voicing Mario in Super Mario Bros. Wonder following the game’s initial trailer. Some may not have noticed, but there’s just something a tick off that fans picked up on.

Meanwhile, you can find what Nintendo had to say initially about Martinet’s new role with the company here.
