Curve Digital: Switch community is “thriving”, system “is a fantastic platform for indie games”
Curve Digital has released Human: Fall Flat and The Flame in the Flood on Switch, with more titles to follow. The company has previously announced that games such as Bomber Crew, Smoke and Sacrifice, and For the King are on the way.
In an interview with GamesIndustry, Curve’s Rose Buhain said, “The Switch community is absolutely thriving.” Buhain added that the platform is “a fantastic platform for indie games.”
Curve chairman Stuart Dinsey chimed in on Switch as well. Here’s what he stated about Nintendo’s console:
“There has been a rush of games coming out on Switch. It’s very competitive, and we were worried we might be a bit late to it with Flame in the Flood and Human: Fall Flat last year, which is why we’re so pleased with how they’ve done. Switch is great, but we are also really happy with PC, Xbox and PlayStation. All of them.”
One thing to pay attention to with Curve’s games in the future is pricing. Dinsey indicated that the company’s offerings will be priced a bit higher.
“Gamers are expecting more features from indie titles, like online co-op, 4K and DLC. We are very comfortable with games at lower prices. Rogue Aces for Switch and PlayStation is coming at £9.99. But yes, we are gradually moving towards £20 and above more often than not. Because you have to make sure the quality, and the features, are all there.”
