Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons to receive free DLC next month

March 15: Publisher Modus Games and developer Secret Base have announced “Sacred Reunion”, a free DLC update for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons. The update, which will launch on April 4, will add three new characters, two new modes, online cooperative play, and new upgrades.

Ranzou will make his grand return following his last playable appearance in Double Dragon IV, where he’ll be able to utilize the skills he’s learned through his ninja training to take down foes in the blink of an eye. If Ranzou veterans need a new challenge, they can use his powers in the brand-new Survival Mode. Survival Mode will challenge you to defeat waves of increasingly powerful enemies. Buff your character between rounds with a host of new, more impactful upgrades and last as long as possible. Additionally, join forces with a friend from anywhere in the world as online cooperative will be launching alongside “Sacred Reunion.”
More details on the other new characters and modes coming to “Sacred Reunion” will be available soon.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is available now on Switch. The free DLC update will go live on April 4.
March 27: It’s now been confirmed that Sonny Lee and Chin Sei Mei will be appearing in the Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons free DLC update, Sacred Reunion. They’ll come with their own unique play styles and abilities and can be used across all modes, including the recently revealed wave-based Survival Mode.
Sonny Lee last appeared in Double Dragon IV. For Chin Sei Mei, he’s been on hiatus since Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones.
