Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club demo

Nintendo today announced a demo for Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, which will actually be split into three parts. The news is technically only shared for Japan thus far, but the same will likely apply to the west (plus Switch is region free and English is supported in all versions of the game).

The first part of the demo, which consists of the prologue and first chapter, will release on August 19 / August 20 (actual time varies depending on your region). Nintendo will then follow up with the second chapter on August 22 / August 23. Lastly, the third chapter closes things out on August 27 / August 28.

In order to play the Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club demo, you’ll need to download it from the Switch eShop. Updates will then be released in the following days to provide access to the second and third chapters. If you download the demo after August 27 / August 28, you’ll be able to play everything right away.

This is obviously a bit different from how Nintendo has distributed demos in the past. However, one thing remains the same, which is that all progress can be transferred to the full version.

Outside of sharing the Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club demo news, Nintendo put out a couple of new videos. We’ve included both of them below.
