Fantasy Life i sales milestone

May 24: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has already managed to reach its first major sales milestone.

According to Level-5, the game has sold over 50,000 copies. That’s based on the combined performance for all platforms worldwide. News about the success was shared on social media today along with the commemorative piece of art above.

While we don’t have specific data, Fantasy Life i appears to be doing very well on Nintendo Switch. The game’s Deluxe Edition topped the Nintendo eShop charts this week while the standard version is also in the top three.

Despite a rocky road to launch, Fantasy Life i now seems to be paying off for Level-5. The company delayed the project not once, but twice. After it was initially slated for 2023, Level-5 moved it to 2024, and then later April 2025. Producer Keiji Inafune also left in 2024 with Level-5 CEO stepping in to take on the role. Another change involved making Fantasy Life i multiplatform and Nintendo was first planned to handle publishing in the west.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is out now on Nintendo Switch. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow soon.

June 2: Another milestone has been reached, and Fantasy Life i’s sales have increased to 800,000.

Level-5 said today:

“Since launch, the title has received an overwhelming response far beyond expectations, with the download version performing strongly on digital platforms both in Japan and internationally. On several platforms, the game even ranked #1 for multiple days and sales have continued to grow steadily ever since. We sincerely thank all players for their tremendous support.”

June 12: The game has now reached another milestone. According to Level-5, sales are now beyond one million.
