Final Fantasy VIII Remastered announced for Switch

Over the past few months, Square Enix has been releasing a number of classic Final Fantasy games on Switch. Now you can add another one to the list: Final Fantasy VIII.

Revealed today during the company’s E3 2019 press conference, Final Fantasy VIII Remaster is in development and will be released on Switch. It will launch later in 2019.

LOS ANGELES (June 10, 2019) – SQUARE ENIX today revealed that the highly anticipated FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered is coming to the Nintendo Switch system, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices and PC (STEAM®) later this year.

Announced during the SQUARE ENIX E3 Live event earlier today, FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered brings the game’s classic story to modern platforms, now with newly rendered visuals that bring the game’s characters to life like never before.

In FINAL FANTASY VIII, the military nation of Galbadia has declared war on the Dukedom of Dollet, who must hire the mercenary force, SeeD. Squall Leonhart, a new member of SeeD, together with his friends and Rinoa Heartilly, a member of a resistance group, get pulled into the war, unaware of their fated task to save the world.

FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered will be available for the Nintendo Switch system, PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One family of devices and PC (Steam) in 2019. For more information, visit: www.ffviiiremastered.com.
