Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Switch tech analysis
Now that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age has arrived on new platforms, Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the RPG from a technical perspective. We’re able to see how the Switch version holds up against the Xbox One release.
First up, Final Fantasy XII is just 12GB on Switch. That’s in comparison to the file size of 26GB for the Xbox One version. The two versions are very similar, and the only notable different on Switch is that there are some lower resolution textures.
Resolution drops to 80% on each axis of the maximum target resolution. That means Final Fantasy XII runs at 864p when docked and 576p in portable mode.
Final Fantasy XII also runs at a steady 30 frames per second. This applies to both modes – docked and portable.
