First Shadow of the Eternals details, confirmed for Wii U

A pulled test page on Precursor Games’ website has revealed the first details about Shadow of the Eternals, where it goes by the earlier name Shadow of the Ancients.
Shadow of the Eternals is coming to both Wii U and PC. A release is planned for the fourth quarter of 2014, according to the FAQ portion of the page.
Fans can expect an action-adventure experience with horror elements mixed in. It’s strictly a single-player experience – a note reads:
“We believe that single player games are very much alive in this industry, and present a cinematic experience to the gamer unlike any other.”
Shadow of the Eternals is split up into different episodes, each of which lasts two to four hours. By pursuing this approach, the team can “interact with gamers, and receive feedback that will both influence and improve the creative decisions involved in producing each episode.”
Precursor will not be pursuing Kickstarter for its crowdfunding campaign at the moment. That’s because “Kickstarter is only open to companies that are in the US or UK. We hope that we can work with Kickstarter in the future to make this option a reality.”
In total, Precursor hopes to raise $1.1 million for development – a very high goal indeed. The FAQ section does say that it’s a “flexible” goal and “All contributions will go directly towards the development of this game and making it a reality.”
Precursor describes Shadow of the Eternals as a sequel to the GameCube title Eternal Darkness. An official description posted to the site states:
When Detective Paul Becker is called to one of the bloodiest gang massacres in Louisiana state history, only two survivors remain from a brutal conflict between two rival cults. As Becker begins his interrogations of the suspects, their combined recollections will uncover the truth about the ‘Ancients’.
Shadow of the Ancients is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Reqiuem. Featuring an ensemble cast of heroes and villains, the game will span over 2500 years of history throughout Egypt, England, Hungary, and the United States. Players will question the perception of reality as they try to balance the mechanics of combat, magick, and sanity events to progress through the adventure.
Shadow of the Ancients will take players on a memorable journey throughout time; weaving historical fact with disturbing fiction to create an experience unlike any other.
