Gearbox boss heaps praise on Nintendo Switch 2, wants to bring more games to the system
Nintendo Switch 2 has a big fan in Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford.
Pitchford, who just now wrapped up his work on Borderlands 4, told GamesRadar that “Nintendo Switch 2 is an awesome, awesome machine – I’m so grateful for it.” He feels that the platform is “less about innovating and more about perfecting, and giving us what we want and what works.”
Pitchford went on to say that he was already a fan of the previous console and “kind of wanted a more powerful one with newer games.” However, when he was told about the system and realized Nintendo invested in the software as much as it had the hardware and made “it easier than ever to connect with other people”, he became particularly excited.
Other than that, Pitchford was asked if we could see other Gearbox games on Nintendo Switch 2. Here’s what he said on that front:
“I love Switch, and I love my Switch 2. And I think that without getting in trouble and trying to talk about things that are from the future, we love making games, and we love entertaining people, and we want to be on the platforms where the people that want us to be are. And Nintendo just had the most successful new console launch in the history of video game consoles, and I don’t think that’s slowing down.”
“I love that platform, and I want to bring more games to it… it’s really not the right time for me to talk about games that are down the road.”
Borderlands 4 will hit Nintendo Switch 2 on October 4, 2025. Visit this page for more news about the system.
