GoldenEye 007 Switch Online textures fixed, still room for improvement
The Nintendo Switch Online N64 app received a new version 2.11.0 update yesterday, and while it was highlighted by the addition of Pokemon Stadium 2, it also brought along some improvements for GoldenEye 007. However, not everything is perfect.
As pointed out by Twitter user Graslu00, texture tiling on Dam has been fixed. Also, the dark textures on Bunker have been improved.
It sounds like there’s still a lot that can be done with the game. For one thing, smoke is still broken on some maps. Caverns is also still running at a locked 15 frames per second. It doesn’t end there, as Graslu00 points to the fact that exploded objects are still too dark, the runaway plane is still too dark, street buildings are still wrongly affected by fog, the watch menu weapon textures are broken, and the muzzle flash is too dim on AR33 and RCP-90. There are also claims that the audio quality has worsened with the Nintendo Switch Online N64 app version 2.11.0 update.
GoldenEye 007 originally appeared on Nintendo Switch Online for Expansion Pack members at the start of the year. The game finally received a re-release following its original N64 launch in 1997.
