Publisher Microids and developer Endroad today announced that a new game based on Grendizer is in development. It will launch in 2023 for Switch and other platforms.
UFO Robo Grendizer, which goes by Force Five: Grandizer in the US, is a Japanese Super Robot manga and anime from Go Nagai. The upcoming title from Microids will be based on the franchise.
Not much is known about the upcoming game, though we’ve received confirmation that the genre is action. It will also “grant the nostalgic gamers the chance to play as Duke Fleet and his great robot and enjoy epic adventures.”
Speaking about the Grendizer game, director and Endroad director Colomban Cicéron said:
“We have been working fervently on the Grendizer project, aiming at the highest quality to please the fans and the newcomers alike that didn’t get the chance to be introduced to Duke Fleed (Daisuke Umon in Japan) and his friends. This is such an abounding universe that deserves the most focused attention to detail. We are all fans of this IP we grew up with and we’re fully dedicated in providing players the game they’ve been dreaming about for decades. We are exceedingly grateful to be able to work on this IP and will do our very best to deliver an exceptional gaming experience.”
