Hero Mode spotted for Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom appears to include a Hero Mode featuring a higher level of difficulty. That’s based on a new playable version of the game featured at PAX West 2024.
Fans have been going hands-on with the game and spotted the detail. It looks like that Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will let players choose between Hero and Normal Mode difficulties. As of now it’s unclear if the final version will let players access the option right away or requires an unlock.
The description of Hero Mode notes that it’s intended for “advanced players”. It includes a few adjustments such as taking twice the amount of damage and hearts won’t drop. Some accessory effects won’t be applied either.
If you’re looking for the regular experience, that’s where the Normal difficulty level comes in. Everything here will be standard such as hearts dropping.
Here’s a look at a photo snapped of the demo from PAX:
If Hero Mode sounds familiar, that’s because it’s previously been a part of other Zelda games. We’ve seen it in other titles including A Link Between Worlds, Link’s Awakening, Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and Skyward Sword HD.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches for Switch on September 26, 2024. You can find coverage trailer, including the most recent trailer that revealed the Still World, Swordfighter Form for Zelda, and more.
