How to catch Kyogre in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Groudon and Kyogre are both available as part of the story in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC. You’ll have to clear the main story’s final boss in order to do so, and then you’ll be able to take on Groudon and Kyogre afterward. Of course, this entails earning enough Hyperspace Survey points to advance the story. Once you’ve done that, Corbeau will come up with a new donut recipe – we have the perfect recipe here, in case you don’t want to mess around with different berry combinations.
Pokemon Legends Z-A Kyogre location

As you can see in the picture above, our Kyogre donut recipe included two Hyper Charti Berries, two Hyper Colbur Berries, two Hyper Payapa Berries, one Hyper Tanga Berry, and one Hyper Shuca Berry. The Legendary Pokemon donuts require very specific flavor levels, and this combination of berries fulfills all of Kyogre’s criteria. If you’re missing berries, just use some regular (non-Hyper) berries and farm 1-star Hyperspace pockets – break all of the Poke Balls instead, finish all of the tasks, and find and destroy the bonus ball. You can even save in front of the bonus ball to reset the types of berries it gives you. Alternatively, 4-star Hyperspace Battle Zones sometimes have NPCs that give you berries. After defeating them, they’ll ask if you want some berries – save here, and then talk to the NPC. If they give you the kind of berry you want, great – otherwise, reload and try again. Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s DLC is very heavy on grinding, so soft resetting may be necessary for some cases to speed things along.
Once you’ve made the donut, you will have to take on Kyogre in a two-phase Rogue Mega Evolution-style battle. It’s only weak to Electric and Grass-type moves, so if you chose Meganium as your starter you might have a slightly easier time here. Thankfully, Kyogre isn’t even close to the toughest boss fight in the game, so as long as your Pokemon are properly leveled you shouldn’t have any problems. Kyogre is Shiny locked in this game, and if you want to catch it in a Poke Ball that matches its color scheme, we’d recommend going with a Great Ball.
