indieszero is the developer behind Nintendo World Championships NES Edition
Nintendo World Championships NES Edition isn’t out just yet, but the game’s developer has already been revealed.
indieszero worked with Nintendo on the project. Given the company’s history, that may not be overly surprising. indieszero previously handled the NES Remix games for Wii U as well as Ultimate NES Remix for 3DS – titles that are in some ways similar to Nintendo World Championships NES Edition.
Just like with many games from the Big N these days, we were left wondering which developer was actually behind Nintendo World Championships NES Edition. Lately, fans have been poking through the credits to uncover that information or using other means.
Waiting until launch wasn’t necessary this time. Pre-loading for the game has started, and thanks to a datamine from LuigiBlood, we know that indieszero teamed up with Nintendo. Also worth noting that a version 1.1.0 update is also available – but patch notes haven’t been shared at this time. The same datamine reveals that the codename is “Fake” and it uses NERD’s NES emulator, which was used for the NES Mini and Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo World Championships NES Edition launches for Switch on July 18, 2024. You can find more on the release here.
