July 2022 NPD: Switch on top for console sales again
The NPD report for July 2022 has confirmed that Switch again led monthly video game console sales in the United States when it comes to units. Additionally, the same fact applies to the overall year so far.
Switch was the leader for unit sales, but PlayStation 5 was the leader for the actual dollar amount when it comes to July and 2022 as a whole. It’s worth noting that Sony’s system is more expensive than Switch as the digital version is priced at $400 followed by the standard model at $500.
If all of this information sounds familiar, it’s because things played out exactly the same way in June.
In terms of software sales, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is off to a strong start having debuted at #4. Digimon Survive also managed to squeak into the top ten. You can find the software chart for June here.
