[Let’s Talk] When will Nintendo announce Switch 2?

Posted on May 11, 2024 by (@NE_Brian) in Switch 2

This week, Nintendo finally acknowledged the successor to Switch. As part of the company’s financial results, president Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that the new system will be announced sometime within the next fiscal year. That means we could technically hear about it at any point between now and March 2025.

With that in mind, when do you believe Nintendo will announce Switch 2? Throw your hat into the ring in the comments below.

Highlight from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – May 2024

Been playing Endless Ocean Luminous with Yooka-Laylee on the side.

I don’t care what the internet says, Endless Ocean is another solid game.

Since it was on sale, I picked up Digimon World Next Order. Played the first digimon world game on PS1 a ton, but never really kept up with the series. (Although I hear they got away from the raising/sim aspect a bit) Next Order really does play like if the first world game was made in the “modern” day with standard QOL features and such. I’m having a blast with it.

Been playin Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger Ix 2 for a while now. Probably one of my favorite Inticreate games. It’s like Mega Man Zero 5.

That’s all. Been focusing on my reading backlog latelly. That thing grew to much.

I’ve been playing weird stuff, like I’ve been trying to play stuff I’ve never heard of or that’s out of my comfort zone. Picked up this diablo like called shadows awakening on Xbox it’s actually pretty good and I just beat life is strange before the storm yesterday and I’ll probably start life is strange 1 this weekend

Playing this past couple of weeks:
– Eiuyden, Stellar Blade, Harold Halibut & Sagres. All good-to-great games!
– “On deck”, I’ll next play Sand Land, SaGa Emerald Beyond, and Corn Kidz 64.
– Also I’m always playing old games — recently a lot of N64 like Mario Golf and NHL ’99 (with my kids), Extreme G & Buck Bumble. Worked hard on some Saturn shmups this month: Hyper Duel, Skull Fang, Salamander 2.

It’s been a fun and interesting April. May will have only a couple of big games of note (TTYD & Hellblade 2), but it’s a really interesting month for indies (best month in a while for the indie scene) & a handful of smaller, cool retro re-releases. I’m looking forward to:
– re-releases: Wizardry Proving Grounds console release (the original was my obsession as a teenager on our family’s Apple IIe), Rainbow Cotton, System Shock. WiZman’s World Retry, Shockman 3
– indies: Gestalt Steam & Cinder, Rogue Prince of Persia (Early Access on Steam), Astor Blade of the Monolith, Nine Sols, Overmorrow & many others…
