Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope character guide: Rabbid Rosalina
Nintendo Everything has created a series of character guides for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, looking at the best skills to acquire, party members to use with them, and Sparks to give them to maximize their potential. This is a guide for Rabbid Rosalina.
Rabbid Rosalina is one of the new characters of Sparks of Hope, and one you will unlock once you reach the second planet. Whilst her singular attacks are weak, she hits an enemy multiple times, and with her Heat Up skill the damage increases with each consecutive hit, which can make her quite effective against stronger foes. Combine this with her Ennui technique, which freezes enemies in place – even bosses! – and she can serve as both an offensive unit and a support unit.
What skills are best for Rabbid Rosalina?
How you build Rabbid Rosalina initially should depend on whether you want her to take a more offensive or defensive role in your party. If you want her to provide a more supportive role, your priority should be to fully upgrade every ability in the Technique branch of her Skill Tree, saving Wakeup Slap for last due to its high cost.
If you would prefer her to be a more offensive character, upgrade only Ennui Cooldown and Ennui Duration before focusing on the Weapon branch of her skill tree, upgrading Extra Ammo and Heat Up before going back to unlock Wakeup Slap, followed by Critical Hit Chance and Weapon Range.
Rabbid Rosalina is also an excellent choice for survival maps and ones that require you to reach a set point on the map: whilst her HP is not as high as other characters, you can increase her Movement Range, and as she can freeze enemies in place with Ennui she can stall for time quite effectively whilst travelling across the map.
Who are the best party members to use with Rabbid Rosalina?
Rabbid Rosalina works well when paired with most party members, as she can provide a more offensive presence when using characters like Rabbid Peach and Peach, and a more defensive one with her Ennui technique when paired with characters like Rabbid Mario. A team of Rabbid Rosalina, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario can be quite potent in later stages, as Wakeup Slap will amplify Rabbid Mario’s already high damage output, with longer Ennui uptimes allowing Rabbid Peach to provide healing support. You can also use items to facilitate this by resetting skill cooldowns, although this can be costly in the long run.
On lower difficulty settings, or in the right circumstances, Rabbid Rosalina can replace Rabbid Peach in most party setups entirely, as you can keep enemies locked down with Ennui long enough for your other characters to finish them off. Your best bet for doing this in earlier stages of the game would be with higher damage characters such as Luigi and Rabbid Mario.
Which Sparks are best for Rabbid Rosalina?
Glitter works well with Rabbid Rosalina, as it allows her to pull in more enemies which she can then freeze with Ennui, giving you some breathing space to heal your characters, set up Spark boosts, or apply Weaken if you are using Rabbid Luigi. It is generally a good idea to save this for your last act in any turn which, depending on how many enemies there are on-screen, effectively skips their turn.
If you’re playing Rabbid Rosalina as an offensive frontline character, giving her a Spark that will apply a Super Effect to her weapon which enemies on the stage are weak against can amplify her damage output considerably. Alternatively, if you have Rabbid Rosalina as a more defensive unit, or find that she takes too much damage in getting close enough to enemies to use Ennui most effectively, giving her Exosphere so that she can increase her defense is also a good option.
