Metacritic: a look at the top-rated Wii U and 3DS games of 2016

Metacritic’s year-end report has arrived. In its piece recapping game reviews of 2016, we’re able to get a closer look at how Wii U and 3DS performed in the eyes of critics.
Wii U accounted for 44 reviewed games on Metacritic. The console had no games with an average of 90 or higher, but had four exclusives with scores of 75 or higher.
There were 57 3DS games in Metacritic’s database, of which no titles had an average of 90 or higher much like Wii U. However, 20 exclusive releases scored 75 or higher.

The average Metascore for Wii U this year was 68.5, up slightly from last year’s mark of 67.1. For 3DS, the average went from 69.0 in 2015 to 71.9 this year.
