Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 frame rate resolution

Konami has provided details on what to expect from the frame rate and resolution of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 across all platforms, including Switch.

For Nintendo’s console, the package will run at 30 frames per second. Resolution in docked mode comes in at 1080p. For handheld mode, it’ll be native 720p.

Resolution appears to be the same across all platforms. However, the main thing that hurts here is frame rate. While it’s 30 FPS on Switch, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 will be at 60 FPS on other consoles.

Something else some fans haven’t been happy about is that for the physical release on Switch, there’ll be a good chunk of content not included on the cartridge and will be relegated to a digital download instead. More information can be found here.

As for the collection itself, it contains the first three Metal Gear Solid games, the original MSX2 versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, and the NES games Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge. Konami is also throwing in a bunch of extras like digital graphic novels, screenplay books and master books with story and character information, strategy guides for each game, and a digital soundtrack.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 launches for Switch on October 24, 2023.
