Nintendo confirmed in a statement that it’s put a pause on product shipments to Russia. Additionally, the eShop in that country “is currently under maintenance following the suspension of transactions in Russian rubles by the payment provider.”

All of this ties into the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Earlier in the week, Nintendo delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, citing “recent world events”. It is currently unclear when the title will be receiving a new release date.

As for the latest developments, Nintendo provided Eurogamer with the following statement:

“We have decided to suspend shipping all Nintendo products to Russia for the foreseeable future. This is due to considerable volatility surrounding the logistics of shipping and distributing physical goods. In addition, Nintendo eShop in Russia is currently under maintenance following the suspension of transactions in Russian rubles by the payment provider.”

Eurogamer also points out that Nintendo has pulled certain marketing material. As one example, a trailer that previously went online has since been removed from YouTube.
