Nintendo will soon be introducing a new Expansion Pack tier for Switch Online with N64 and SEGA Genesis games. However, those that remain on the current plan will still be able to gain some of the latest classic titles as well.

Nintendo has confirmed that it still has plans to release more NES and SNES games for Switch Online. There’s no word on what’s planned for the future, though additional titles tend to be added every few months or so.

Some have felt that Switch Online has started to run out of heavy hitters when it comes to the NES and SNES selection. At the end of July, we saw Claymates, Jelly Boy, and Bombuzal on the SNES side of things. NES actually didn’t receive any new games at the time. Some are hoping that we’ll eventually see the likes of EarthBound and Super Mario RPG, though thus far they’ve been missing in action.

As for N64 and SEGA Genesis, the first batch of games for those two systems under the Expansion Pack tier will be made available at the end of October. We’ve compiled an initial list of titles that will be offered here.
