EA Sports FC dev talks Nintendo Switch 2 power, excited by performance
EA Sports FC 26 line producer Andreas Wilsdorf has weighed in on Nintendo Switch 2’s power.
The console is set to receive the first soccer / football effort from EA very soon. Thankfully, the experience should be mostly in line with what’s offered on PlayStation and Xbox.
In an interview with Game Rant, Wilsdorf said the team is excited by Nintendo Switch 2’s performance. He went on to speak about how there’s parity with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
Wilsdorf’s full words:
“In general, the Switch 2 was really exciting. Being on the platform with FC this year, the performance is what really excites us. It is on parity, basically, with what we see on PS5 and Xbox. Again, it’s a handle console, but the first time I played with it, I was really impressed. Then, we also saw it working on the simulation and the times it takes to simulate the season and so on, which was very, very close to what we saw in PlayStation and Xbox devkits. That’s really impressive.”
EA Sports FC is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 (as well as Switch 1) on September 26, 2025. Virtuos, which previously worked on several Nintendo Switch 1 ports, also spoke about the new system’s power – read about that here.
