Nintendo Switch Online price increase

A price increase has been announced for Nintendo Switch Online, though only for some regions throughout Latin America. The change will be taking place this March.

Nintendo started emailing customers today about the change in price. Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina will be impacted. While no changes have been announced for other regions, this is setting an interesting precedent for the future.

Here’s a look at the updated prices for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass Family Plan in affected regions (individual memberships are also impacted):

  • Mexico: MX$ 1,599 > MX$ 1,999
  • Brazil: R$ 262,99 > R$ 299,00
  • Argentina: $76.899,00 > $93.079,00

Nintendo’s email is devoid of details about why the price for Switch Online is going up. However, the message does note that consumers can maintain the current price by subscribing by February 28.
