Nintendo Switch update 20.1.0 out now, patch notes
May 27: The latest firmware update for Nintendo Switch, version 20.1.0, is now available to download.
While it’s not a massive upgrade, it does go beyond the typical stability improvements we typically see. The notable changes involve the Parental Control settings and the sound for the Nintendo Switch Online app launcher.
The full rundown of the update can be found below, courtesy of Nintendo:
Nintendo Switch version 20.1.0 update patch notes
- Visual updates have been made to the Parental Control settings.
- The sound that plays when Nintendo Switch Online is launched from the Home Menu has been changed.
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
Nintendo has rolled out a couple of other updates over the past month or so. Version 20.0.0 was big, bringing along virtual game cards, support for Nintendo Switch 2 transfers, and more – catch up on the patch notes here. There was also version 20.0.1, which was a prominent fix as some users were running into error code 2206-1015 that was preventing the system from starting properly.
Tons of other Nintendo Switch coverage can be found here.
May 28: Alongside version 20.1.0, there are also firmware updates for controllers (thanks Cameron). You can now update the right Joy-Con and Pro Controller.
