Comic-Con

– Metroid: Other M and Dragon Quest IX were at Comic-Con
– Nintendo’s booth was underwhelming
– Big Pokemon booth
– Nintendo/Pokemon had separate booths

NBA Jam

– 2 modes shown at EA’s event
– A lot of secret characters in the game
– One mode has you bringing down the other person’s backboard, dunks are what really break it
– No score in the backboard mode
– Another mode has battles inspired by Punch-Out!! – With Magic Johnson
– Camera is rotated because it’s one-on-one
– Magic Johnson can teleport
– 7-8 boss battles


NHL Slapshot

– The peripheral is mostly plastic, except for the end
– Craig was surprised at how well the game worked
– Peripheral does motion tracking using the nunchuck/Wiimote together
– Doesn’t do MotionPlus sensitivity
– According to EA the peripheral is a licensed piece of plastic
– Flick forward for a wrist shot, pull back and forward for a slapshot
– Slam control/parry controller to do a check
– Controls work really well
– Switch characters with “A”, “B” to deke/spin moves, nunchuck button for the turbo
– Craig surprised at how well it works
– Can’t play sitting down
– A lot of people seemed to be bad-mouthing the game ahead of time because EA mostly showed peewee hockey
– Can play as the kids, no rules (but 3 on 3)
– Horn honks when you score
– Two different tiers after peewee , between peewee and the pros

Zelda timeline

– Aonuma said that there is a timeline, but not many people know about it
– Craig doesn’t think there is a timeline
– Skyward Sword takes place before Ocarina of Time
– People are speculating that the Master Sword will be made for the first time in Skyward Sword

– Classic Gaming Expo in Vegas this weekend
