LONDON – Nintendo is sponsoring an interactive web series called ‘Get Fit with Alyson’ that aims to motivate children and teenagers to regularly exercise.

Independent multimedia production company Tribe Pictures has created the web series, which stars Alyson Stoner from ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’.

The series is running on GetFitWithAlyson.com from June 11 as podcasts and as mobile content, however additional content entitled ‘Get Wii Fit with Alyson’ will also feature on the Nintendo Channel.

Each show runs for three minutes and features Stoner leading kids through a fun exercise programme and workout. The show will also encourage visitors to submit their own stories of the things they are doing to change their lives.

Dennis Gelbaum, managing director of Tribe Pictures, said: “‘Get Fit with Alyson’ is an interactive destination for kids where they can access cool content and network with others.

“Each three minute show focuses on exercise, presents an intimate and unscripted chat with our cast about the things kids worry and think about the most — real issues, real talk, real conversations — and ends with a segment we call, ‘The World According to Alyson’.

“I think what we have done, from creating a unique concept to how we put all the pieces together and how we attracted and partnered with our sponsor is going to be the new model for how web content is created and produced in the future.”

The ‘Get Wii Fit with Alyson’ programme, produced exclusively for the Nintendo Channel, features Stoner using the Wii balance board to help viewers get into better shape.

Vern Oakley, founder and chief executive of Tribe Pictures, said: “This project is very different from what an agency or production company traditionally produces.

“It represents Tribe Pictures’ expertise in developing original programming for branded entertainment opportunities.

“The marriage with Nintendo is appealing because we’ve created a unique show that has its own integrity, that tweens and teens will actually want to watch, while also showcasing the Wii console.”

Gelbaum and Oakley are the executive producers of ‘Get Fit with Alyson’, which is produced in association with brand marketing company Production Advisors.
