Nomura on Kingdom Hearts 3D, says the title may imply that it’s the third iteration of Kingdom Hearts

Well, that’s pretty odd. Tetsuya Nomura just said a few days ago that Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be even be out by 2012. So I’m confused as to why this title would be that game!
