“If I could come across everything that I played I would have to go with Chrono Trigger. I think Chrono Trigger was one I really enjoyed. It’s tough because a lot of the Japanese RPGs have very specific functions for everything. There is very specific item progression, very specific class progression, very specific everything. I think… I don’t know I’d have to think about it. I think it would be fun to take the setting of a Japanese RPG, which is a weird mix of fantasy and sci-fi mashed together and make a Western RPG out of that,” Urquhart chimed in. “I think that would be cool. I mean it’s kind of Star Wars, that’s kind of what Star Wars is a fantasy in space. I think that would be interesting.” – Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian
“I think we’re going with Chrono Trigger because it has elements of a Western RPG. It’s more open, it’s still mostly linear, but there are parts you can explore more. There are lots of differences, like you can beat Lavos at different parts of the game and you get different endings based on that. There are obvious answers like dialogue trees and all of that good stuff. The seeds are there for that kind of development.” – Nathan Chapman, Lead Designer
Hmm…As much as I respect Obsidian, I just don’t know about letting them work on a new Chrono Trigger. I think I’d rather see Square Enix handle the title internally.

I’m not too sure that this is related to Ono’s tease, but we’ll see. I’m also not even sure if it’s Nintendo related! But keep your eyes peeled on the site, as well as on Gaming Everything for updates!
This information comes from the latest KP report…
– Game has lighting effects, shading, but the 3D boosts its graphical appeal
– Good feedback at E3
– What was shown at E3 was a sample
– Konami could still bring it to market, but can’t say one way or the other
– Comments will influence how Metal Gear turns out on 3DS, will help bring it out
– At the moment it’s based on Metal Gear Solid 3
– “Naked” for Naked Snake
– Other aspect for “naked” is for the naked eye, no glasses needed for the 3DS
– Kojima interested in hearing what people think about the game
Direct quote from KP Report host Sean Eyestone about Metal Gear Solid 3DS…
“Of course, I think we talked about the fact that it is a sample. So you know, not saying that we won’t bring it out in the future or anything like that. We can’t say one way or the other whether or not something like that will come out on the 3DS at this point. But what we did show at E3 was a sample of what we could do with the 3DS.”

Here’s the next shot fired from the rumor gun: Play.com is reporting that a certain title (namely the 3DS DragonBall game) will release this November, specifically on the 19th. It is safe to assume that if a 3DS game is out, the system is already out as well in most cases. What is odd about this is that the site also has a listing for the Gundam 3DS game for a March 25, 2011 release date, which means we have two oddly specific release dates for some relatively obscure games. Chances are we’ll never really know the release date until Nintendo announces it themselves, but it’s fun to speculate!
A few days ago, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono teased a new project on his Twitter account. Ono only stated that Super Street Fighter IV “is nothing compared to what’s coming.” While it still isn’t entirely clear which title he was referring to, there is a small sign that it could be a new Darkstalkers title.
Last Monday, Ono noted that he had a proposal to give to Keiji Inafune. He said that his presentation was a success a day later. When a fan asked if he could make a Darkstalkers/Vapre game, Ono said, “I’m left speechless yet….. Shhhh.”
There have been a number of different indications recently that Ono would love to make a new Darkstalkers title. Since there seems to be huge interest there, it seems more than possible that an announcement will be made sometime in the near future.
