Pikmin 4 is now the best-selling game in the series

Pikmin 4 has taken the crown as the series’ new best-selling game. With it launching in mid-July, that was done in about two months.

As revealed by Nintendo’s latest financial results, the title has sold 2.61 million copies worldwide. That’s as of September 30, 2023.

Pikmin 4 has done the best in Japan by far. Over half of the game’s sales come from that region – specifically 1.36 million – with the rest of the world contributing to the other 1.24 million.

Previously, Pikmin 3 Deluxe was the best-selling game in the franchise at 2.4 million copies sold. It took significantly longer to reach that number – the title released in October 2020 and was at that mark in December 2022.

Sales of the original Pikmin for GameCube are at 1.6 million. Pikmin 2 sold 1.12 million while Pikmin 3 on Wii U sold 1.28 million.
