Game Freak not ruling out Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! for Switch
Game Freak could one day bring Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! to Switch.
The developer is largely known for its work on the mainline Pokemon games going all the way back to the Game Boy. However, the company has also worked on some smaller titles on the side. Pocket Card Jockey was one of them.
Pocket Card Jockey, a hybrid of solitaire and horse racing, originally came out for 3DS in 2016. After a trademark for Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! was spotted in Japan a little while back, many had hoped that Game Freak was preparing a Switch version. In the end though, the title is only receiving a mobile release.
There is at least a small glimmer of hope for the future. Game Freak programmer Masao Taya told Polygon that the team is focusing on future updates and monitoring feedback from Apple Arcade users, but wouldn’t rule out a Switch version of Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! He said: “We want to see the reaction we get and then we’ll think about the next step.”
