Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl finally fixed on Nintendo Switch 2, plus other Switch 1 backwards compatibility updates
It took a bit of time, but Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl have finally been fixed on Nintendo Switch 2 when playing the games via backwards compatibility. The Nintendo eShop pages confirm that everything is good to go.
We previously heard that both titles were causing crashing issues. It wasn’t something happening every time, but it was a problem that was fairly widespread within the Pokemon community.
According to Nintendo, previously identified issues affecting Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been resolved with an update. That should refer to system firmware version 21.2.0, which was made available on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch yesterday. You can read more about that update here.
Another game has also been fixed with the update – Cats on Duty. This is also now in working order following the latest firmware drop.
In other news, Nintendo has identified an issue with Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. While the game functions on Nintendo Switch 2, players may experience audio problems in some areas.
