Pokemon GO details Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl event

Pokemon GO is celebrating the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl with a special event, and Niantic has now shared first details.
Pokemon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will be appearing more often. Additionally, players can find Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup wearing special Sinnoh-inspired hats in the wild. Avatar items inspired by those same first partner Pokemon will be offered in the shop as well.
The first half of the event, celebrating Pokemon Brilliant Diamond in Pokemon GO, begins on November 16 and lasts until November 18. We’ll then see the next half for Pokemon Shining Pearl between November 18 and November 21. Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup wearing red Sinnoh hats will be appearing in the wild for the first half – the second half only changes the color to white. Note that the same trio will be available as Field Research encounters. You may even find a Shiny Turtwig, Shiny Chimchar, or Shiny Piplup if you’re lucky enough.
There are other activities planned for the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl in Pokemon GO involving bonuses, Raids, and Eggs. More information can be found on Niantic’s official blog here.
Pokemon GO is now available on mobile for iOS and Android. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl launch for Switch on November 19.
