Pokemon GO revenue surpasses $5 billion

Pokemon GO doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. As the game celebrates its fifth anniversary, global spending has surpassed $5 billion.

Sensor Tower also provides the following information:

– Pokemon GO has generated $1 billion on average each year
– $641.6 million in the first half of 2021
– H1 2021 represents Pokémon GO’s best ever start to a year, with revenue up 34 percent from H1 2020 and up 130 percent from H1 2017
– Pokemon GO generated record revenue from player spending in 2020 at $1.3 billion globally, a rise of 41 percent year-over-year
– Pokemon GO has accumulated approximately half of its total 2020 revenue in 2021 thus far
– US has made Pokemon GO $1.9 billion (36.6 percent)
– Japan is second with 32 percent
– Germany is third at 5.4 percent
– Google Play has generated $2.7 billion (52.8 percent)
– App Store has picked up $2.4 billion (47.2 percent)
– 632 million downloads
– US is first in downloads at 115.5 million (18.3 percent)
– Brazil is second in downloads at #2, followed by India at #3
– Google Play downloads are 487 million (77 percent)
– App Store downloads are 144.8 million (23 percent)
