Pokemon Legends Z-A Shiny Charm 1000 battles

We’re back today with another guide on Pokemon Legends: Z-A, this time covering how to quickly reach the 1000 battles needed for the Shiny Charm.

Getting the Shiny Charm in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is fairly simple: complete all of Mable’s research tasks. That doesn’t mean it’s easy, though – many of these research tasks are purposefully repetitive to prevent you from getting the coveted Shiny Charm too early. These are all self-explanatory for the most part; many of the tasks will have you catching Pokemon of a certain type until you’ve caught 50 of every type in the game. The final task most players will need to complete is to win 1000 trainer battles, which as you might expect, takes a very long time. We’ve compiled a list of tips that will hopefully make those 1000 battles pass faster.

Shiny Charm 1000 battles tips

One good way to win battles fast is to head to Restaurant Le Nah in southeastern Lumiose City. Bring a Pokemon with lots of priority moves – Bullet Punch, Extreme Speed, and Quick Attack from Lucario all work well, for instance, and the final Wild Zone grants a chance to spawn a Level 60 Alpha Lucario to make this process much easier. Restaurant Le Nah puts you through three battles with two Pokemon each, and every single one instantly faints when hit by a Level 60 Lucario Extreme Speed. You can finish three battles in under one minute each here, which technically makes this the fastest way to farm the 1000 wins you’ll need. That being said, this gets monotonous really fast, even if you’re doing it in the background while you’re watching TV.

The other way to farm wins is simply to play in the Battle Zone. By the time you’re going for the Shiny Charm, you probably are already at the max possible rank, so you don’t need to worry about farming points to get a Challenger’s Ticket. The fastest way to farm battles in the Battle Zone is to run around as fast as you can and let your Pokemon get spotted. Having them charge moves and sneak up on opponents takes precious time away from the night. If your Pokemon are already Level 100, you can pretty much KO any opponent in a single hit anyway. The positive to grinding the Battle Zone is that you will get more rewards in the form of prize money and items – and when you do get a Challenger’s Ticket, you can participate in a reward match and receive a few EXP Candies for your efforts each time.

Basically, if you’re going for speed, go to Restaurant Le Nah. Once that gets boring, switch to Battle Zone for a little while to break up the repetition. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is still receiving DLC, so having the Shiny Charm before it even comes out would be a huge advantage. In the meantime, have you gotten your Shiny Charm, or are you still a few hundred battles off? Feel free to let us know in the comments down below.
