Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Rotom location guide

Rotom returns in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, and you can read our new guide to keep track of its location. This time around, you’ll need to go out into the world to capture one for yourself rather than have it take possession of your Pokedex or smartphone.
What is Rotom?
Rotom is an Electric/Ghost-type Pokemon. Known as the Plasma Pokemon, it was first introduced in Gen IV, and is best known for its ability to possess various electrical appliances, swapping its Ghost-typing for another depending upon the appliance it possesses.
Here’s the Pokedex entry for its base form: “Its electricity-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief.”
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet Rotom location
Rotom appears in East Province Area Two and West Province Area Two. The habitat data of the Pokedex entry notes that it lives near towns and cities, and the easiest place to find it is on the small beach next to Levincia. If you’re having trouble with the location for Rotom in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, first prepare an Avocado Sandwich, which requires the ingredients Avocado and Smoked Fillet, with Salt as a seasoning, and will bestow Encounter Power: Electric Lv. 1, which will increase the chances of one appearing in this location.
Of course, Rotom may also be encountered in a Tera Raid Battle, which will be marked on your map. New ones will appear as you clear them, and they will also change daily, so it is worth checking each one on your map to see if any of them contain Rotom. You can encounter Rotom in 4 and 5 star Tera Raid Battles.
