Pokemon Scarlet Violet update 1.2.0

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will be receiving a new version 1.2.0 update in late February, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have announced.

Specifics have not yet been shared. However, we do know that it “will include bug fixes and add functionality”. Additional information will follow “soon.”

The first update for the games, version 1.1.0, was released at the start of December. It was highlighted by the start of Ranked Battles Season 1, but also addressed one specific issue plus various bugs.

As part of the official patch notes, Nintendo stated it was “aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance” and will be “working on improvements to the games.” That note came hot on the heels of complaints that the new Pokemon entries suffered from frame rate problems, impacting the experience for some players. It’s currently unclear if the next patch will include any performance improvements due to the lack of details thus far.

We’ll let you know when we have further details about the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet version 1.2.0 update, and when it goes live.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are both available on Switch. More information about the titles can be found on the official website here.
