Pokemon Sword and Shield hosting Max Raid Battle event with Gigantamax Kanto starters

To celebrate the upcoming Pokemon Day 2022, Pokemon Sword and Shield have announced a new Max Raid Battle event featuring Gigantamax versions of all three Kanto starter Pokemon.
This means you’ll be able to encounter and obtain Gigantamax forms of Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Defeating them will also yield Max Mushrooms as an additional reward.
To participate in this Max Raid Battle event with Gigantamax Kanto starters, you’ll first need to connect your Switch system to the internet. Then, when a pillar of light appears from a Pokemon Den in the Wild Area, just walk up to it and interact to have a Max Raid Battle begin.
Note that this event will be live until February 27, 2022 at 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET. We’ll most likely see another Max Raid Battle event not long after this one is over, so we’ll keep you updated when that happens.
