Precursor will refund all pledges if studio “cannot raise enough” to make Shadow of the Eternals

There’s no denying that Precursor Games is seeking astronomical funding in order to make Shadow of the Eternals. Ultimately, there is no guarantee that the studio will be able to reach its $1.5 million goal or deliver on all of its promises.

So what happens to those who pledge? If the goal isn’t reached, will people receive a refund?

Fortunately, the answer is yes – more or less. Precursor updated its crowdfunding FAQ following concerns that funds would not return to their original owners, assuming that the company “cannot raise enough” to make Shadow of the Eternals.

It now reads:

“Our financial goal is a flexible one. All contributions will go directly towards the development of this game and making it a reality. We are committed to making this game, however, if it becomes apparent that we cannot raise enough to develop this project then we will refund all pledges.”

I imagine this will make folks a bit more relaxed about the situation!
