Rumor: Resident Evil Requiem coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom hasn’t announced Resident Evil Requiem for Nintendo Switch 2 just yet, but rumor has it that we could be seeing something in the future.
Dusk Golem, a name who is often discussed within the Resident Evil community when it comes to speculation, claims that the game will be on Nintendo’s new console as well as PlayStation 4. Whether this would make launch or come later is currently unclear.
Dusk Golem speculates that Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo Switch 2 would be “a different version with different tech”. Capcom is pushing the visuals and performance of the game with ray tracing at 60 FPS. If we see the game on Nintendo’s platform, there would likely be downgrades.
Capcom brought tons of Resident Evil games to the previous Nintendo Switch. However, not all of them were native ports. The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 as well as 7 and Village were all cloud versions.
We heard from Capcom’s president this week that the response to Nintendo Switch 2 was better than the company expected. Given that, perhaps the publisher will make more of an effort to release additional titles on the platform.
