Rocket League update out today (version 1.2.0 / 1.63), “Radical Summer” event announced

Rocket League players on Switch can now access the game’s latest update. Psyonix has issued version 1.63, which will show on your system as version 1.2.0.

CHANGES AND UPDATES

General

  • ‘DeLorean Time Machine’ hitbox has been changed from Octane to Dominus
  • Lighting has been adjusted on ‘Salty Shores’ based on community feedback

Friends List

  • You can now block players through the in-game Friends List
  • Once you block a player, you will no longer receive notifications from them, and your online presence will not be visible to them
  • Remember that you may still be friends with this player through your platform’s friend’s list
    • Blocked players will appear in the new ‘Blocked Players’ list within the Friends List menu
  • You can unblock players by selecting them from your Blocked Players list, and choosing ‘Unblock Player’

Replay FX

  • ‘Scene Depth’ Image Filter and Vignette have been adjusted
  • Two new Replay FX Image Filters have been added
    • ‘Outlines’
    • ‘Subpar’

BUG FIXES

General

  • In Free Play, ball now properly launches upward when playing Hoops and Dropshot
  • Re-adjusted size of rear wheels on ‘’16 Batmobile’
  • Fixed an exploit that would display non-Certified Customization Items with a certification during trading
  • Fixed sorting by “Most Recent” in inventory
  • Fixed a bug with all three Slash Beam Rocket Boosts causing framerate issues
  • Preset colors no longer change unintentionally when changing to a new Preset at the end of a match
  • Fixed the Disruptor power-up in Rumble so it no longer affects boost pick-ups
  • Players can no longer jump infinitely when sitting on top of the ball while using Spikes in Rumble
  • Fixed an issue causing a Club Tag to be filtered for only one member of a Club during an Online Match
  • Completing a trade while opening a Crate and selecting ‘Equip Now’ will no longer close the game
  • Fixed a bug causing the “Minimum score threshold not met” message to appear erroneously at the end of a match
  • Adjusted effects inside the ‘Celestial’ Wheel
  • Fixed colors on the ‘RC Rivals’ Decals
  • Attempting to trade a recently-acquired item will no longer cancel or time out the trade

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Ball indicator may not appear near the middle of Throwback Arena
  • [Salty Shores] Lighting in the arena may tint some Decals more blue than normal
  • One player’s car may be invisible at match start, will reappear after a goal is scored
  • Tournament creators may not be able to spectate Tournament matches
  • Several Wheels may show the rotor or hub clipping through on certain Car Bodies
  • [Nintendo Switch] Players may enter an Online Match stuck in an incorrect camera view until a goal is scored

In other news, “Radical Summer” has been announced for Rocket League. The ’80s themed in-game event will start on June 10, and will feature over nine weeks and celebrates iconic movies, television, and culture with limited-time game modes, new items, and two Premium DLC car packs – Ghostbusters and Knight Rider.

Here are the full details:

  • ’80s Blockbusters – June 10 to July 1
    • The Blockbusters celebration kicks off Radical Summer with the launch of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack on June 10. The pack will include the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Battle-Car, Ecto-1 Wheels, Proton Pack Boost, Slimer Topper, Ghostbusters Player Banner, Ghostbusters Avatar Border, and the Stay Puft Goal Explosion for $1.99 (or regional equivalent).
    • The first limited-time game mode for Radical Summer is Ghost Hunt. In this spooky 3v3 mode players must fire a proton stream to capture the ball and carry it to the opposing team’s Containment Zone to score a goal.
    • Additional ‘80s franchises featured in the Blockbusters phase — as in-game items in the Radical Summer Event Store — are Back to the Future, E.T. the Extra-TerrestrialThe Goonies and Karate Kid. Additional details on the landing page.
  • ’80s Culture – July 1 to July 22
    • The action-packed Spike Rush Game Mode will start the Radical Summer Culture celebration on July 1. Spike Rush is a 3v3 mode where each player has the Spike power-up from Rumble Mode that can be activated to carry the ball up field.
    • New in-game items highlighting the iconic culture of the ‘80s will be available in Radical Summer’s Event Store.
  • 80s Television – July 22 to August 12
    • The Knight Rider Car Pack kicks off the last celebration of Radical Summer dedicated to television. The pack will feature K.I.T.T., the high-speed, talking futuristic car outfitted with high-tech gadgets and personality of its own from the hit ‘80s show, alongside Knight Rider themed items. More information will be revealed later.
    • Beach Ball Game Mode is the final limited-time game mode in Radical Summer. It is a 2v2 mode inspired by beach volleyball with a larger ball, low ball gravity and Curveball mutator activated.
    • Additional ‘80s franchises featured in the Television phase as in-game items in the Radical Summer Event Store are DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defenderand WWE. Additional info to follow later this summer.
